Yesterday, I filed as a candidate for Harris County Democratic Party Chair on the primary ballot in March 2012. Thanks to everyone that has given their support thus far; I look forward to earning your trust and your vote before Election Day.
Over the past many months, I have traveled the county and spoken with precinct chairs, activists, club leadership and elected officials about the direction of our party. Given my conversations and drawing on my experiences as a Democratic activist, I am more confident than ever that 2012 is ours for the taking.
On December 20th we will have a chance to begin that process as we elect an interim Chair. I ask for your vote and support in creating a new direction for Democrats in Harris County.
By declaring my intention to run for HCDP Chair, I am fully committed to seeing Democrats elected up and down the ballot by focusing on financial strength, grassroots activism, and proud progressive messaging. The road ahead will require hard work and dedication from everyone of us, but together we can get the job done.
