Trautman Receives Labor Endorsement in Primary Race for HCDE Board Trustee

Houston, TX. – Dr. Diane Trautman is proud to announce that she has received the endorsement of the Harris County AFL-CIO in her 2012 contested primary race for Harris County Department of Education Trustee.

“I am truly honored and grateful to receive the endorsement of Labor and would like to thank everyone at the Harris County AFL-CIO who made this possible”, said Dr. Trautman. “My race for Harris County Department of Education Trustee will be about safeguarding HCDE programs that are so vital to our working families, because these programs promote opportunity for all. It’s been said that education is the “great equalizer”, and I want to make sure that every child has equal access to a quality education.”

Dr. Trautman has over 25 years of education experience as a teacher, principal, and professor of education. She worked in four Harris County school districts during this time, and before going into the education field, she worked 10 years in the Houston banking industry. She is currently retired from education and serves on the advisory board of Will’s Kids, a non profit organization that encourages children to stay in school.
