There is no doubt that President Obama was handed the worst deck of cards of any president. He inherited what many knew would come to fruition, a collapse of our economy specifically caused by the institution of supply side economics by Ronald Reagan and expanded on steroids by George W Bush. This is the same brand of economics George H Bush called VODDOO ECONOMICS when he ran against Reagan.. Our financial collapse makes that term prescient.
President Obama inherited a population that was progressively losing health insurance and healthcare. He was faced with a corrupt banking sector that would fight to keep that which they pilfered from the middle class.
But one of his biggest challenges was dealing with intransigent Republican politicians who cared more about defeating him than the country. He faced Republican politicians that showed no concern for the middle class. In fact he faced Republican politicians who would attempt to pass policies that materially and negatively affected the vast majority of Americans in order to benefit a privileged few, deeds that can only be considered unpatriotic.
