Houston, TX. – Dr. Diane Trautman received two more endorsements for her County School Board race last week. She received the endorsement of the local chapter of Democracy for Houston as well as the national endorsement from Democracy for America. The endorsements were announced at the monthly meeting of DFH on Wednesday, March 14, and a $500 check from DFA was also presented to Dr. Trautman. These endorsements join the list of her earlier endorsements last month from the Harris County AFL-CIO, Houston Black American Democrats, Harris County Tejano Democrats, the Houston Federation of Teachers, and Area 5 Democrats.
“DFH and DFA are BOTH very happy to support Diane Trautman’s candidacy for the County School Board,” remarked DFH CoFounder and Executive Steering Committee Member, Phillip McNutt. “Diane’s credentials include a wide range of education experiences from the classroom to administrative duties. Her financial background will also aid her in getting more bang for the buck, in these difficult times. She understands the “VALUE” of our County School System.”

Dr. Trautman has over 25 years of education experience as a teacher, principal, and professor of education. She worked in four Harris County school districts during this time, and before going into the education field, she worked 10 years in the Houston banking industry. She is currently retired from education and serves on the advisory board of Will’s Kids, a non profit organization that encourages children to stay in school.
