Numbers Don’t Lie -The Affordable Care Act Works For Texas

March 22, 2012 By Egberto Willies

In 2014, 35% of Texans would be uninsured if Governor Rick Perry got his way. At the same time, the Affordable Care Act is working in Texas. Texas can choose a better path for health care, one where over 90% of our state has health care coverage. Will you be a part of that choice today?

The two-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act is THIS Friday. Sign our pledge to defend the Affordable Care Act in Texas!

Currently, 1-in-4 Texans lack health care coverage, the highest rate of uninsured in the nation. Rick Perry isn’t trying to make it any better – he is planning on making it worse. Perry and his fellow conservatives in the Texas Legislature are pushing a health care plan that would end health care coverage for more than 2.5 million Texans. Meanwhile, the Affordable Care Act – signed into law by President Obama two years ago this Friday – would expand health care coverage to nearly 4 million more Texans.

The numbers don’t lie – Rick Perry is planning for failure:

If you think we should provide more health care coverage to Texans, sign our pledge today!

If you think we should keep insurance companies from denying coverage because of preexisting conditions, sign our pledge today!

If you want women and children to have access to better care and better coverage, sign our pledge today!

The Affordable Care Act is working in Texas. After nearly 12 years of Rick Perry in charge, it’s time to stick with what works. Join the more than 4,000 Texans who have already signed the pledge to defend the Affordable Care Act!
