Dr John TheisDr. John Theis was named Innovator of the Year by Lone Star College Kingwood. He created a Public Achievement youth engagement initiative focused on the most basic concepts of citizenship, democracy and public work under the Center for Civic Engagement at LSC-K.

His initiative was effected at both Splendora High School and Quest High School. Students participated in various civic activities that included Art in Schools, Animal Awareness, Bullying, TAKs Testing, Immigration Issues, School Spirit Store, Teen Center, Cancer Awareness, Clean up our Park, & Animal Awareness.

Dr. Theis model citizenship supersedes what he does both at Lone Star College and in the several High Schools where he engages students to be civic minded. He spends virtually all of his Saturday mornings between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM at Occupy Kingwood at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Blvd. If you want a fact based discussion on what ails our economy and body politic come visit Occupy Kingwood for some fun and friendly informative engagement.

We are proud of our own DR JOHN THEIS.
