We’ve completed 31 consecutive weeks of Occupy Kingwood. We will make it to our 52 consecutive weeks at the corner of Kingwood Drive and West Lake Houston Parkway. We do this every Saturday between 9 AM and 10:30 AM.

I was a awaken early Saturday by Dr. Theis. He had a family health emergency that he had to take care of and would not be able to come. I texted him this morning and all turned out fine.

I got to our spot about 20 minutes early. No one else was there; 2 minutes till nine; nobody there. Dr. Theis and I are always the first out and we’ve always joked at times that we may be the only two out there though that has never occurred. Yesterday I thought just maybe I would be the only one out there. After-all it is hot and I am sweating just taking all the signs out of my car. But then I thought, nah, we have spoken about dedication rain, shine, heat or cold to show that causes require dedication and discomfort.

We have messages that must be seen. We have discussions that must be had however uncomfortable it may make some. If there is one thing we get out there is attention without being intrusive on folk’s weekend routines.

Finally, Edda showed up and then Professor Davis. The other stalwarts trickled in. I get it. The intent is to minimize sun exposure even by 5 minutes. It is early and already in the 90s. With direct sun exposure the heat index feel like its way over 100 degrees.

It was a very positive day. We got more thumbs up and positive hunks than I have ever seen. These were thumbs ups from folks in a Cadillac, folks in a Mercedes, folks in a Lexus, FedEx trucks, UPS trucks, delivery trucks, etc. It was simply amazing.
