Nancy Pelosi Announcement: House Democrat Reportedly Remaining Minority Leader

Posted: 11/14/2012 9:14 am EST Updated: 11/14/2012 9:23 am EST

imageNancy Pelosi will keep her post as House Minority leader in the next congressional term, according to CNN and ABC News.

The California Democrat was expected to announce her plans for her political future on Wednesday morning.

This is a developing story…

Nancy Pelosi is expected make an announcement on her future as House Minority Leader on Wednesday morning.

She will reportedly announce whether or not she’ll be staying on in the wake of Republican’s retaining the House in the 2012 elections. The press conference is scheduled for 10 A.M.

Should the California congresswoman step down as House Minority Leader, Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) would likely take over the position.

Progressives launched a last-minute bid on Tuesday night to urge Pelosi to stay.

"It just seems to me that at this moment in history, we need a woman to lead us," Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) told HuffPost.
