(VIDEO) Make A Difference With Active Involvement In Your Own Community

November 20, 2012 By Egberto Willies

imageDr. John Theis, a Coffee Party member has been an integral part of the Occupy Kingwood grassroots movement that have had a weekly informational occupy for 48 weeks. Occupy Kingwood is comprised of Democrats, Independents, Greens, Libertarians, Republicans, Socialist Democrats, Coffee Party members, and Move To Amend members.

This group has been peacefully informing citizens in this very conservative area on issues that directly affect the middle class. While a few neighbors have been dismissive and rude, the vast majority have been friendly. Many park their cars and come over to talk. There is always a donut for them to feast on while talking.

This week was pivotal in that the decision was made that at the 52 week completion, this mixed group of political ideologies will become an affiliate of Move To Amend. It will be promoting all the tenets that we all know is the root of all our problems, money being speech and corporate personhood.

While the weekly occupy will come to an end, we will periodically “inform” when the need is there. The groups will be working at the grassroots level to continue informing different groups and segments of the area and asserting itself within and without electoral politics.

Political engagement is a must if change is really to be effected. It will not happen from the top are with the election of charismatic leaders. It will only happen with hard grassroots efforts led by you.
