Kansas City Move to Amend

Kansas City Move To Amend Featured AffiliateKansas City Move to Amend has been an active affiliate since December 2010. Over the past few years, Kansas City has had many successes, ranging from passing a municipal resolution to the May 10 Day of Action.

KCMTA has had enormous success in their outreach efforts. They have reached out to local groups and have created partnerships with over a dozen local partners, including the Kansas City Greens, Reclaim Democracy, and the local Sierra Club chapter. They’ve also paved the way in outreach to traditionally marginalized groups, making Spanish translation of their resolution petition a priority.

Most recently, KCMTA made a big splash at their local March against Monsanto on May 25.  Affiliate coordinator Mary Lindsay represented Move to Amend as a keynote speaker The event turned out over 1000 people, and KCMTA gathered 344 new petition signatures.
