It was a very very hot day. It was near 100 degrees but that was not enough to deter a contingent of Kingwood Area Democrats to join the Harris County Democrats and The Texas Democratic Party in celebrating in the Gay Pride parade. This is one of the most exciting and colorful events we participate in every year.
As usual, the County Chairman Lane Lewis led the Democratic contingent. There were many elected officials and candidates in the in cars, trucks, and on foot. This Pride Parade had an extra degree of satisfaction in that our gay brothers and sisters are one step closer to full equality in this country with the decision rendered by the Supreme Court last week.
