Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott Enters Texas Governor’s Race

July 14, 2013 By Egberto Willies

Senator Wendy Davis, we are waiting. We are ready and able to mobilize Texas Progressives to win this one for the survival of Texas as a real Progressive state.

Over the last several weeks progressives have been reborn. The movement must continue and not allowed to falter during the lull before the heart of the election season.

Are you ready?

Greg Abbott Enters Texas Governor’s Race

imageTexas Attorney General Greg Abbott just made it official — he’s running for governor in 2014.

This is the guy who once said Battleground Texas is "far more dangerous" than a nuclear-armed North Korea. He loves to brag that "I go into the office, I sue the federal government, and I go home." He stands with the Texas GOP in restricting women’s access to health care, and he’s spent millions of Texas taxpayer dollars attacking the Voting Rights Act. He’s a mentor to Ted Cruz, and he falls right in line with Rick Perry on almost every issue.

Bottom line: Greg Abbott represents a continuation of Rick Perry’s extreme ideology. And Texas deserves better than that in the Governor’s Mansion.

From day one, Battleground Texas has been focused on registering voters, bringing more people into the democratic process, and laying the groundwork to change our state for the long run.

Stand with Battleground Texas and say you’re ready to fight back against extreme Republicans like Greg Abbott:
