Once again, our House of Representatives has passed legislation which will only hurt their constituents.
Thursday, Sept. 19, the House voted to cut food stamps (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
SNAP)by almost $40 billion over 10 years.According to the Texas Department of Human Services, The SNAP food benefits helps people with low incomes and resources buy the food they need for good health.”

When I read about this vote, I assumed that my own Congressman, Ted Poe, voted
against it. After all, he went against many in his party to vote for the Violence Against
Women Act. However,I was wrong! The most vulnerable of his constituents have been
put in an even more precarious position by his actions. I called his office to express my
outrage. I hope you will, too.
