BREAKING: Obamacare Enrollment Numbers Released (VIDEO)

November 13, 2013 By Egberto Willies

Obamacare Enrollment Number

Obamacare enrollment number

The first Obamacare enrollment numbers are in. 106,185 thousand Americans have signed up for insurance through Obamacare exchanges. 26,794 have signed up through healthcare.gov. 79391 have signed up via the state run exchanges. The enrollment number covers the first 33 says, from October 1st to November 2nd. The bulk of the Obamacare enrollment came from states that set up their own exchanges, specifically New York and California.

MSNBC reports that the released information did not provide the specific age breakdown or the mix of those that have enrolled (pre-existing conditions, etc.). The definition of Obamacare enrollment is loose. It specifies who has successfully enrolled with an insurance plan. It does not say whether the insurance was paid for as of the release of the information.

These numbers may seem very low. However, if they are viewed through the lens of the Massachusetts implementation of their version of the Affordable Care Act , the Obamacare enrollment numbers actually outperform. In the first month Massachusetts had 123 enrolled, less than 1% of those expected. Under Obamacare this represent over 1.5 percent of the seven million expected.

“There is no doubt the level of interest is strong. We expect enrollment will grow substantially throughout the next five months, mirroring the pattern that Massachusetts experienced,” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said. They’re also numbers that will grow as the website, HealthCare.gov, continues to make steady improvements.” [Source]

There is no doubt that Republicans will try to use these low numbers to attack the new law. They should hold their guns because as improvements are made to healthcare.gov and as the misinformation campaign is overcome by reality, they will pay a price. America will see who is really looking out for the interest of the poor, the working poor, and the overstressed middle class.
