MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Interrupts Substantive Interview on NSA to Cover Justin Bieber
If there is any doubt that the media is useless, one just need to see what happened last week. Andrea Mitchell was interviewing national security expert ex-congresswoman Jane Harman. The interview was interrupted to go to breaking report. What was breaking? Justin Bieber, a pop star was getting arrested. That is how serious our news has become.
So what did Andrea Mitchell have to say about it?
“All I can say is, so be it. It’s the luck of the draw,” Andrea Mitchell said, acknowledging that she expected his arraignment to come during her show and said she tried to keep the coverage to a minimum. Mitchell also defended her show against criticism, saying, “I have more foreign policy coverage five days a week on my program than any other program on television, so you can imagine that this was unusual.”
So we ask again. Why are Americans so uninformed? Serious talking heads like Andrea Mitchell and others have been complicit in news becoming entertainment. Americans see no distinctions.
