Watch Rachel Maddow destroy media hypocrisy on Obama appearance on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis

March 13, 2014 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Rachel Maddow scorns media reaction to Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis

Obama appearance on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis

There is a narrative within many circles that attempt to equate MSNBC as the polar opposite of Fox News.  Fox News is decidedly the mouthpiece of the Right. MSNBC is decidedly the mouthpiece of the left. All the other channels are right of center.

I watch ABC, NBC, CBS, CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, HLN, and CNN throughout the day. At any given time I am recording one or two snippets if they provide material I want to blog about. I have concluded that ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN are simply parrots of each other with lazy researchers. Fox News has excellent researchers who are able to cut and paste information to create false narratives. MSNBC, which except for Joe Scarborough is fairly progressive, has excellent researchers. While MSNBC will not accentuate Conservative issues, their material is almost always fact based. When they slip up, they correct in short order.

Why the long preamble? It was upsetting to watch most of the traditional media hyperventilating about President Obama’s appearance on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. The response from Fox News was expected. The response from most of the Traditional Media and their pundits was despicable. Their response proved how shallow, lazy, and willfully uninformed they are. It is for this reason that Americans are themselves so uninformed.

Rachel Maddow’s piece below is a complete take down of those in the traditional media that should be in the know. They are either old enough or should have learned about researching in their journalism classes.

Rachel Maddow and her researches had no problem finding videos way back to Ike, Nixon, Reagan, and Bush. And guess what? They ‘demeaned’ the office just as President Obama did with his appearance on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis.

Rachel Maddow’s final quote should give many of these journalists pause. “Which makes you feel worse about the dignity of the presidency,” Rachel Maddow asked. “The way Richard Nixon told the ‘Sock it to me’ joke on ‘Laugh In’ or what else Richard Nixon did to the dignity of the office? Telling jokes or being part of comedy bits not only has generations of precedence among American presidents. It has never diminished the dignity of the office. Presidents have to work way way harder for that distinction.”

President Obama’s appearance on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis accomplished its goal. He wants Obamacare to help those who need it. It is obvious he cares more about their well-being than the perceived dignity of the office.

The days of Walter Cronkite, Bernard Shaw,or David Brinkley are gone. The days when one looked at the evening news or cable news as a reliable source of information are over. We are stuck with faux journalists like Chuck Todd, David Gregory, Jonathan Karl, and Ed Henry. There is no doubt that reliable bloggers provide more reliable news than the traditional media,

I also find the BBC to be a heck of a lot more reliable than the US media.

You are absolutely right. That is because for some reason the British plutocracy does not yet have a stranglehold on it.
