Irate Right Winger slams my post that questioned an Obamacare potential ‘Scam’

April 23, 2014 By Egberto Willies

Obamacare scams

I wrote about the incident at DailyKOS. I do that a lot of times to add my bad and good experiences into the cloud’s knowledge base with the expectation that it will help  others just as others have helped me with their information.

Well, today I got an email rant from someone  who read the post. I blocked out her last name to ensure her privacy. One knows a job is well done when a response close to the source provides a response as follows.

Letter from reader defending a possible Obamacare scam

From: Tammy De XXXXXX imaXXXXXXX@gmail.com

To: Egberto

Subject: Egberto, you are full of crap…On a good day

Dear Egberto:Normally, I never respond to the whiny, champagne liberal garbage I see on DAILY KOS.  It is the left’s version of FOX NEWS (which I also detest)

However, I can’t stand when someone who is as ill-informed as you thinks they can “out” someone as a scammer without knowing ANYTHING about the person, product, or anything else of consequence.  I also hate it when people say “it’s all lies,” without offering any substantial facts to back up that.   It’s all EMO-based ranting with little to commend it as “journalism.”

I am speaking specifically about this piece of tripe

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/12/05/1260341/-Who-is-paying-bloggers-big-bucks-to-peddle-Obamacare-scams

In full disclosure, I should say  that I know Rick personally, and have partnered with him on numerous projects.  Yes, he IS a businessman,YES, he does have entrepreneurial ADD.  Do I believe everything he says about everything?  NO.  But I don’t believe anyone that much about anything,  All of us have our own agendas.

However, when it comes to Obamacare, Rick is definitely well-informed and is someone who spent years in the health insurance industry.  Unlike the vast majority of Americans, even insurance agents who don’t specialize in healthcare, Rick actually understands how health insurance works.
And, he knows the difference between health INSURANCE and health CARE, a distinction that seems to elude most people.

If you are such a “nerd” and you actually did read all of the healthcare legislation in its’ various permutations (who’s lying now?) then why not address, point by point everything Rick says in the boot camp?  I can get you a link for free since the $19.95 seems egregiously overpriced to you.
Why not address things simply in terms of the inescapable facts of demographics, actuarial data, and simple math?
I know why.. because math wouldn’t back up your sniveling rant.

I laughed out loud when you wrote “One can only feel sorry for the misinformed. They are first lied to and scared into a stupor.(???) To relieve that fear, they are conned into paying for information they could get for free. The promoters of Obamacare scams are heartless. Is that any different than those who are knowingly lying to their constituents?”

Really?   The other day I was in Barnes and Noble and saw shelf after shelf of books on how to build your own solar panels, how to do aquaculture, how to lead a gluten-free lifestyle, how to program a server.  Guess what?  You can find ALL THAT for free on the internet!  Why on earth would anyone want to BUY a book when he or she can get the info for free?  Or, why would you want to pay money to Duke University to take a course when you can get the same info..for FREE?  So, researching and putting things together in a book, lecture series or video format to help provide solutions to a problem or further discussion is a SCAM?
Uh oh… better close down all universities and corporate trainers and “how-to” authors!

The fact is, Obamacare is working for some, but for a lot of Americans it is NOT working well or at all.
And those people need to know that they have ALTERNATIVES and solutions to help ensure they don’t wind up with less coverage than they had before while paying a lot more for it.
There are winners and losers and Rick points this out again and again.  But for the vast majority of people here in California, it is costing a lot more for health insurance, the available networks are smaller, and there is less access to care.

To me, Obamacare is the real scam.  It is unsustainable given the incontrovertible truth of demographic shifts, the lack of financial advancement of middle class people who are supposed to foot the bill for it, and the lies which were used to try and sell it to the public:
“You can keep your same doctor (uh…maybe, unless he decides not to take Obamacare plans or retires early because he is sick and freakin’ tired of having pencil-necked bureaucrats telling him how to practice medicine)  and “your premiums won’t go up.”  Yeah… right.

Most of all Obamacare is a scam because it is foisted upon people who generally don’t want it with the threat of the IRS and guns.  If you have to do that, it probably isn’t a good idea.
There were absolutely many problems with healthcare in the USA and NONE of them were addressed by Obamacare.

It’s simply another cleverly-packaged wealth re-distribution scheme.(yawn) where the lazy and shiftless (I speak of politicians here) get to force everyone else to pay while they fly off to private medical centers to be treated with quality care.  Ah, the good life of American toe-jam.  I guarantee, you won’t see Nancy Botox waiting for hours in some over-packed clinic.  And I bet if Boehner wants a boner, he will be able to get an RX lickety split from his private physician while the rest of us are forced to accept mediocrity as the new normal.

Having health “insurance” doesn’t ensure ACCESS to quality care.  Far from it.

It doesn’t mean you will get treated for everything that’s wrong with you if you do manage to get in to see a doctor.

So, tell me again… what was wrong with ANYTHING Rick said?

Tammy de XXXXX

“Make Health Care A RIGHT So We Can Address It Properly”

(OMG!  That almost sounds liberal, doesn’t it?”)
