LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling and half-black girlfriend V. Stiviano feud shows irrationality of racism (VIDEO)

April 26, 2014 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

If anyone doubts that racism is a serious mental disease, the audio below is probative. It shows how irrational racism is.  Donald Sterling is the owner of the LA Clippers. Over 70% of the LA Clipper players are black. 45% of the NBA audience is black. Donald Sterling’s girlfriend V. Stiviano is half black.

Donald Sterling’s financial interests, romantic interests, and employments interests intersect intimately with black people. Yet because of his upbringing, he wants his girlfriend to stay away from blacks. Specifically, he wants her to stay away from blacks in public where his friends may see. He does not want his girlfriend to bring black people to the LA Clipper games.

It is so irrational that he states in the conversation he is not concern whether she hangs around black people. She could even have sex with black people. She just must not do it in a manner that makes it become public.

Anyone listening to the audio below must feel Donald Sterling’s pain. He is at war with himself. It is ‘visible’ within his voice. It is ‘visible’ within his lack of cohesive thought. He seems so confused that he does not even know how to answer his girlfriend’s questions about her race and their relationship.

According to USA Today,

The NBA is investigating whether racially insensitive comments in an audio recording obtained by TMZ were made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

“The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information,” NBA executive vice president of communication Mike Bass said. He also said the league is conducting a “full investigation.”

Guys like Cliven Bundy who continue to put their foot in their mouths and Donald Sterling seem so dated. They continue to live in a world where the irrationality of racism still lives but seems out of place. It is evident they are fighting with a reality they are unable to run from. They continue to fight a reality they refuse to cope with or address head on.

Cliven Bundy’s comments were taken out of context and much was omitted.
