Watch Fox News Megyn Kelly go after Iraq War Neocons John Bolton and Andrew C McCarthy

Megyn Kelly Iraq War Andrew C McCarthy John Bolton

Megyn Kelly confronts Neocons John Bolton & Andrew C McCarthy

Megyn Kelly continuous her trek to provide a semblance of true journalism on Fox News for a change. She attempted it a few days ago as she appeared to drill Dick Chaney after he wrote an op-ed in which he said, “Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many.” Megyn Kelly subsequently featured this segment with Andrew C McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor & author of “Faithless Execution: Building the Political Case for Obamas Impeachment” and former US ambassador to the United Nations and Fox News contributor John Bolton.

Megyn Kelly began by asking Andrew C McCarthy where he currently stood on Iraq. He was an avid supporter throughout. His answer was the typical neocon type answer. He continued to conflate the war in Iraq with terrorism. He claimed that there were terrorists in Iraq and Bush was fulfilling his promise to hunt them down wherever they were.

Megyn Kelly then asked John Bolton if sending 300 soldiers/advisors to Iraq is worth it. She said Americans are worried about mission creep like what occurred in Vietnam. As usual John Bolton started with a snarky attack on the President. “I have no idea what the President’s policy is and,” John Bolton said. “I am not sure he does either.” John Bolton likely did this because he like many Tea Party Right Wingers have no further interest in fighting in Iraq now. Bolton said neither ISIS nor the Nouri al-Maliki government should be of interest to the United States. But John Bolton’s real concern is that supporting the Iraqi government means supporting the Shias. Support for the Shias implicitly means fighting on the side of Iran and the current government of Syria.

John Bolton did not want to talk about the last ten years. Megyn Kelly then pressured both guests. She wondered forcefully whether President Obama should be ‘tarred’ by the war in Iraq at all. As the interview went on Megyn Kelly got visibly upset when John Bolton dismissed the concerns of many Americans for having lost thousands of lives and trillions in treasure in Iraq as irrelevant. “It is relevant,” Megyn Kelly said. ”to a lot of people who are out there wondering how did we get here. Is it not relevant to ask how did we get here?”

John Bolton continued to show disinterest for engagement in Iran. Megyn Kelly reminded John Bolton he was one of the avid supporters of the Iraq war. She said that may be the reason he did not want to discuss the last ten years.
