Joe Scarborough slams Republicans for President Obama Ukraine ISIS policy potshots

September 3, 2014 By Egberto Willies

Joe Scarborough making sense

Joe Scarborough never seizes to amaze. Today he had 47 seconds of utter brilliance in the manner he framed the requisite behavior all should abide by in these times of world turmoil. Joe Scarborough made the following poignant and true statement.

I gently  remind you that a storm is rising in the Middle East unlike no other in recent history.  And in this time of trouble, the enemy isn’t Barack Obama. The enemy is ISIS. And Americans understand this.  And if Barack Obama is not shooting first and asking questions later a war wary America will support that caution.

Make no mistake of it. This President is going to act strongly against ISIS because he has no other choice. And as the threat to America grows, Republicans should be seen as encouraging the Commander in Chief on this threat instead of taking cheap potshots on every Sunday show at every turn. That my friends is not just good politics. That’s good for America.

Journalists through out the media have been attempting to categorize the President as weak. Politicians, Republicans and Democrat alike, have been attempting to see who could display more braggadocio. They seem to have not yet shaken the false bravado George W Bush espoused. They hyperventilated when the President said  he did not yet have a strategy on ISIS in Syria. Many however understood that the President was being deliberative. For this we must be thankful.

This is what good journalism should look like at all times but specifically in times when the leader of a country must make war or peace and life or death decisions that affect us all. Good journalism and good commentary must  be recognized the few times they occur.  Maybe in doing so the encouragement will be there for journalists to effect real journalism.
