Watch Young Republicans throw darts at Obama & Wendy Davis posters at voting location in Texas (VIDEO)

October 28, 2014 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Young Republicans of Galveston County throw darts at Poster of President

Sadly, the brand of Republicanism in the state of Texas is unrecognizable. In the video above, the Young Republicans of Galveston county advertised a dart game. It used posters of President Barack Obama, Democratic Texas Gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, and Democratic State House representative  candidate Susan Criss.

According to abc13,

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) — A dartboard adorned with the faces of Democrats set up outside a polling location has a young Republican group apologizing.

The activity was set up on Saturday outside the Galveston County Annex on Calder Rd in League City. People took aim at President Barack Obama, gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis and former Galveston County District Judge Susan Criss who resigned to run for State Representative, District 23.

The Young Republicans of Galveston County advertised it on its Facebook page and quickly received a lot of negative feedback.

After taking a lot of incoming flak, the Young Republicans removed the advertising to their Facebook page. They posted the following apology.

The post regarding our GOTV event from this past weekend has been removed. Please see the following Statement…

“We understand that people have been upset by our event this past weekend. We certainly intended no malice and do apologize to anyone who took offense, including Susan Criss. We do hope that she can accept our apology.”

The actions of the Young Republicans are likely not against the law. It occurred outside of the 100 feet buffer zone.

This is not some isolated event. There is a radical element within the Tea Party branch of the Republican Party that enjoys intimidating and stoking fear. On that same Saturday, a gentleman continued to circle around a tent where the Kingwood Area Democrats were offering refreshments and snacks to voters. His vehicle was adorned with Tea Party paraphernalia. As he drove around he blasted his patriotic movie and stared seemingly with evil intent.

In a democracy the opposition is not the enemy. It is simply a different opionion.
