Farris Barakat, the brother of murdered UNC Muslim student Deah Barakat, showed a humility and forethought in his comment to MSNBC Chris Hayes. He said it would be just as hypocritical for him to blame atheist for the murders of the three Muslim students as it is for anyone to blame Muslims for the acts of extremists.
As a Muslim I know that one act of violence does not represent all Muslims,” Farris Barakat said. “and this act does not represent all atheists.
One hopes that going forward more people will consider judging the individual instead of the class, the ethnicity, the religion, or some other invalid metric.
