Jon Stewart mocks Bernie Sanders run but exposes Hillary Clinton’s flaw (VIDEO)

May 2, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Jon Stewart’s Bernie Sanders skit is probative of Hillary Clinton pitfalls

It was time to make fun of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton’s only announced Democratic challenger thus far. Jon Stewart did not disappoint. In the process he pointed out a Hillary Clinton flaw that should give every one who thinks her presidency is a certainty pause.

Jon Stewart first pointed out the ‘vibrancy’ of the Republican primaries. After all Republicans of all stripes have already thrown themselves into the race. He acknowledged that so far it is all but a coronation of Hillary Clinton.

But then … Bernie Sanders threw himself into the race. How did he do it? With a seemingly impromptu news conference he did not care to attend. “Let me just make a brief comment,” Senator Bernie Sanders said at his press conference. “I can take a few questions. We don’t have an endless amount of time.  I’ve got to get back.” That press conference was a stark contrast to Hillary Clinton’s multistage announcement.

Jon Stewart pointed out some contrasts that illustrate a pathology within the Democratic Party.

“He is basically running as the anti Hillary,” Jon Stewart said. “… He has a set of consistent principles that he has run on his entire political life. She is going to crush him. … There is nothing that can stop her.”

Jon Stewart then laid out exactly what could. There is no evidence of any wrong doing. However their is a narrative based on mistakes. There is a narrative based on the kind of personal financial gain. There is a narrative based on access. There is a narrative based on the past.

The Democratic Party having its eggs in one basket is fool hearted. Will this come back to haunt a Party that all but told good prospects to stay out?
