Lee Camp: ‘Obama Is Blatantly Lying About the Trans-Pacific Partnership’
Lee Camp is funny. Lee Camp thinks so fast that sometimes his jokes run up against each other. With regards to the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) he slows down just enough to get the point across.
To be clear, President Obama and his team would have us believe that this treaty unlike others would be good for the American worker. The President may have been advised that somehow that will become a reality. Mathematically that is an impossibility unless wages and regulations are normalized to American standards.
In other words, unless workers overseas make the same as American workers and unless health and environmental standards are up to par with American standards, it will always be cheaper to export jobs. Period.
Trade agreements are never negotiated for the benefit of workers. It is for that reason unions never play any substantial part in the negotiations. The TPP is a clear and present danger for most American workers.
What is ironic is very little of it has anything to do with trade. It includes provisions that allow corporations to override local laws or be paid for profits they claim they would lose because of a local law. It is really government controlled by the corporation on steroids.
Please for the good of our nation learn about the TPP. The corporate controlled traditional mainstream media will not do their job for obvious reasons. Learn more about how the TPP affects us all here.
