Jon Stewart makes fun of Texas Rick Perry 2nd Run for the Presidency (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart makes fun of Texas Rick Perry

Rick Perry announced his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination today. Jon Stewart was ready to skewer him in less than 12 hours.

Stewart was beside himself by Rick Perry’s entry into the presidential contest. “If we are going to revive this American dream again,” said Rick Perry in his ad. “We need a president who tells the American people the truth.”

“Prayer does work,” said Jon Stewart. “Give me more.”

“We need a president who has done the right thing. We need a president who bridges the partisan divide rather than widen,” Perry continued in his ad. “Who brings people together. We must do right and risk the consequences.”

“Risk the consequences” was Stewart’s trigger. “Maybe the most accurate campaign slogan I have ever heard,” said Stewart. “Rick Perry. Hey! Risk the consequences. Hi, I am Rick Perry. Let’s see what happens. .. It is the same slogan you’d use to advocate unprotected sex.”

Jon Stewart made fun of the corny rap song used at the Perry announcement. He later reminded everyone of Perry’s 2012 election oops moment. He then showed Perry as the empty suit that he is with one snippet from Perry’s speech, “There is nothing wrong in America today that a change in leadership will not make happen.”

No amount of ads and distorted reality will change Rick Perry’s record. If he were to do to America what he did to Texas, the country would be in deeper dire straights. Rick Perry is an indicted former Texas governor running for president under a cloud. Rick Perry is the former Texas governor that has sentenced thousands of Texans to death by not accepting the Medicaid Expansion to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). This morally and fiscally reprehensible act kills thousands of Texans every year and throws away over one hundred billion dollars of Texas taxpayer’s money.

Rick Perry’s support for lax regulations was instrumental in many fatal industrial explosions. Of course he generally wanted ‘handouts’ from the government to defray the cost for restoration. Rick Perry is the governor that vetoed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Rick Perry’s budget cuts were so draconian that it was instrumental in the inability for fire fighters to protect thousands of acres of Texas’ forests from being burned.

While it is funny to make fun of charlatans running for president, the damage they inflict on Americas is real. We should all remember that as we chuckle.
