Journalist to Chuck Todd: ‘I actually see Trump and Sanders as mirror images of each other’ (VIDEO)

Journalist - I actually see Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders as mirror images of each other

Journalist delusional on Bernie Sanders

Kathleen Parker is on a credibility losing trend – not that she had any with most people in the know. Last week she had a brain freeze moment live on air on Meet The Press with Chuck Todd. This happens to us all. But in this case she was decidedly disengaged from the entire subject as it was discussed.

Bernie Sanders has been receiving very large crowds at his rallies and events. ThisWeek with George Stephanopoulos covered it this week. Stephanopoulos pointed out that Trump was dominating coverage on the Republican side while Bernie Sanders was dominating it on the Democratic side. It was pointed out that in Wisconsin over ten thousand people showed up last week. Thousands more showed up in Iowa. He is having the biggest events of any candidate, Democrat or Republican, bar none. Inasmuch as Hillary still leads Bernie Sanders by a wide margin in polls, he is closing the gap strikingly fast.

This week on Meet The Press Chuck Todd opened the topic of the huge attendance Bernie Sanders has been receiving at his rallies and events. He asked if anyone should care (interesting phraseology). Of course people should care. The masses matter. Carolyn Ryan pointed out the even the Clinton people cared even though they are attempting not to give the story much traction. Ryan pointed out that Bernie Sanders offered more authenticity and an unleashed message that does not sound calculated in a lot of ways.

Chuck Todd towing the line of his corporate masters stated that no one believes Hillary Clinton will lose the Democratic primary. He then posits that like other Republican candidates that won who were weakened by their challengers, this could be the case here. Michael Steele suggested that that was unlikely given the fact that Hillary Clinton is not attempting to go tit for tat with Bernie Sanders. One should note that Bernie Sanders is going out of his way not to harm Hillary Clinton on a personal level. He has been messaging completely on policies.

Then came the most silly statement on the entire show. Kathleen Parker weighed in. “I actually see,” Kathleen Parker said. “Trump and Sanders as sort of mirror images of each other in that they represent the extreme of their base.”

Even Chuck Todd would have none of it. “Oh boy!” Chuck Todd said. “Here we go.” Kathleen Parker must attempt talking to the crowds that are receptive to Bernie Sanders’ message. She should check the polls of the policies he is fighting for. Far from the extremes, they represent what Americans really want. One hopes the actual policy messages get out instead of the corporate driven caricature of the messenger.
