Why does Chuck Todd feel the need to rehabilitate Jeb Bush’s comment? (VIDEO)

July 12, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Chuck Todd tries to salvage Jeb Bush

Chuck Todd illustrates why the corporate media is dangerous. When simply viewed at face value it seems that Chuck Todd is at best biased or at worse incompetent. Sadly it is much deeper than that.

The narrative for the 2015 election is being set. The plutocracy decided that Hillary Clinton is the acceptable choice on the democratic side. The Democratic establishment in effect has its marching orders. In that light Bernie Sanders and all other Democratic candidates are disregarded both by the Democratic establishment and the corporate media. Interestingly Sanders is the most electric candidate reaching those who are engaged in the political process at this time.

On the Republican side the corporate media is busy at work clearing the way for Jeb Bush with Scott Walker as his backup. Chuck Todd made this very obvious today for those reading between the lines. He first did a hit piece on Donald Trump. To be clear, the Donald Trump hit piece was well deserved but hypocritical. Similar pieces could be done for every Republican candidate as well as Hillary Clinton. Of course the media attacks and defenses are selective and targeted to ensure popular opinion supports the desired narrative.

Near the end of Meet The Press Chuck Todd completed his task. Along with his panel, Todd attempted to rehabilitate Jeb Bush’s recent statement about working hours.

“My aspiration for the country and I believe we can achieve it, is 4 percent growth as far as the eye can see,” Jeb Bush said. “Which means we have to be a lot more productive, workforce participation has to rise from its all-time modern lows. It means that people need to work longer hours and, through their productivity, gain more income for their families. That’s the only way we’re going to get out of this rut that we’re in.”

‘Jeb Bush rehabilitation by Chuck Todd‘ is becoming the norm. Chuck Todd and many in the corporate media claim the statement is being taken out of context. Firstly if that is the case, according to the Chuck Todd journalistic doctrine it is not his job to correct it. Secondly, Robert Reich and Bernie Sanders did a great job of explaining why it was not taken out of context. They explained that Jeb Bush’s premise is entirely wrong about America’s wage, employment, and economic impasse.

Americans must not allow the corporate driven media to be the ones who provide the choices for president. Doing so ensures that our only choices are candidates that will carry policy preferences for the plutocracy and not middle-class America.
