WaPo columnist Ruth Marcus should be ashamed for #Blacklivesmatter & Bernie Sanders comment (VIDEO)

July 20, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Media equates Right Wing hack with Left & #BlackLivesMatter.

The traditional mainstream media is supposed to be unbiased, trustworthy, and as accurate as possible. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus continues to display the callous disregard for real truth and objectivity that is endemic in today’s traditional mainstream media. Worse, she plays into the hands of a dictated narrative.

CBS’ Face the Nation was discussing Donald Trump and Right Wing hacks. It is unnecessary to get into the details as anyone who watches or reads the news is bombarded by the daily malaise emanating from the Right.

The problem is that the media would have America believe that their is a similarly offensive equivalent on the Left. Near the end of the segment, Ruth Marcus  volunteered to provide that equivalence. The moderator did not. She did.

The #BlackLivesMatter movement interrupted both Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders at Netroots Nation 2015. They wanted a platform that they were denied indirectly. They wanted to address a real issue at the nation’s preeminent Liberal/Progressive event that for all practical purposes was not given the attention it deserved.

#BlackLivesMatter followed the principle that has always been practiced in a democracy, protest and disruption. The reality is that Bernie Sanders has enhanced his stump speech to address the issue. In that regard, it worked. The optics was less desirable than most of us would want. But it was necessary to bring an awareness to the problem of minorities being killed indiscriminately and disproportionately by cops among other issues related to racism that still remain endemic even within the Liberal base.

Ruth Marcus called the encounter between #BlackLivesMatter and Bernie Sanders & Martin O’Malley bizarre. She failed to inform that it was for identifiable and quantifiable issues unlike the demonstrable faux issues on the Right. Marcus thought that because O’Malley and Sanders were calling out the billionaires, something everyone in the room agrees with, that they’ve earned a pass from some issues that affect the the lives of a segment of that constituency. That is not the case. All issues matter. Bernie Sanders understands that. By the time he got to Houston yesterday, his stump speech reflected the race issues many are uncomfortable with but must discuss to solve much of the country’s problem.

Marcus’ journalistic hackery did not end there. She dismissed the candidacy of Sanders and O’Malley in her retort. In effect she is a subliminal vote suppressor as she tells those who trust her that their votes don’t matter.
