Jon Stewart cannot get enough of Donald Trump. His skit last night did a good and funny job to explain why. In a nutshell it breaks down to boredom and excitement.
Jon Stewart starts by acknowledging the fact that journalist ethic dictates good coverage of candidates. “But this guy is so much fun,” Stewart said. He then went on to show some clips of Donald Trump that shows why the guy is like cocaine to an addict. “Watching this man run for president, it’s like eating ice cream on a roller coaster made of b%%%jobs, ” Stewart said. “But it can’t just be Trump. We’ve got to be responsible. We’ve got to turn our heads back to the process. I am sure as all the coverage has been dominated by Trump that we are missing some new and exciting candidates for president of the United States.”
Stewart then went on to show clips of Ohio Governor John Kasich giving his announcement speech. “Holy sh$t!” Stewart said. “That is the base model generic white guy.”
Stewart then segues to Donald Trump again. He just cannot get enough. He tries clips of Democratic candidates. The boredom continues. He finds no excitement or compelling statements.
