Watch Ted Cruz staunch defense of gay marriage license denying Kentucky clerk Kim Davis’ unconstitutional act (VIDEO)

September 4, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Ted Cruz’s defense of Kim Davis illustrates his hypocrisy

Ted Cruz knows the constitution. He has even appeared in a case in front of the justices at the Supreme Court. Yet with full bluster he provides a full-throated defense of Kim Davis. He knows that the Supreme Court is the ultimate interpreter of the constitution. He should know that there are constitutional steps to mitigate Supreme Court decisions. Kim Davis’ act is not one of them.

“Today for the first time in history a Christian woman was put in jail for standing up for her faith,” Ted Cruz said. “This is fundamentally wrong. This doesn’t happen in America. I’ll tell you I am proud to stand unequivocally with Kim Davis. … And you know there are a whole lot of folks on television, both Democrats and Republicans, tut-tutting how miss Davis needs to resign if she is not willing to follow an illegal unconstitutional illegitimate decision from the U.S. Supreme Court. … When exactly has any of those voices ever call for the mayor of San Francisco to resign for maintaining a sanctuary city or defying federal immigration law, for inviting violent criminals, illegal aliens to his city and resulting in the murder of an American citizen including Kate Steinle. The idea that one clerk in Kentucky is somehow a threat to our liberty and the rule of law but a president that openly defies the law daily is not is a ludicrous proposition.”

Ted Cruz graduated from Harvard law school magna cum laude. He knows better.
