Tennis star James Blake slammed to the ground by NYPD officer (VIDEO)

September 12, 2015 By Egberto Willies

James Blake being abused by NYPD officer

Anyone continuing to believe that there are not two forms of law enforcement in this country are willfully  mistaken. The video above should dispel that belief.

Retired tennis superstar James Blake, a black man, was standing at his hotel minding his own business. A rabidly violent police officer, James Frascatore, assaulted him and threw him to the ground face first. He kneed him as he handcuffed him.

Why did the officer do that? Supposedly James Blake fit the description of a credit card fraud suspect. Now credit card fraud is not a violent act. It is for all practical purposes a white collar crime. Was Bernie Maddoff thrown to the ground without provocation?

Mayor Bill de Blassio and Police Commissioner William J Bratton have since apologized to James Blake. James Frascatore’s was stripped of his gun and badge. According to the New York times he has had several other complaints of abuse.

“I am determined to use my voice to turn this unfortunate incident into a catalyst for change in the relationship between the police and the public they serve,” Blake said.

Many have been less than sympathetic with the Black Lives Matter movement. In fact many claim that police are now second guessing their actions. The reality is that they should second guess their actions given their proclivity to discriminate. The fact that even with all the recent scrutiny cops can continue their violent behavior against those they should be protecting is disconcerting. It shows that cops in the aggregate simply do not give a damn.
