Moses Malone had died
The Houston Chronicle reports that ex Houston Rocket Moses Malone has died at 60.
Moses Malone, a three-time MVP who was named one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players ever for his dominant play in the 1980s, died Sunday in Virginia. He was 60-years-old.
Malone, inducted into the Naismith basketball Hall of Fame in 2001, took the Rockets to the 1981 NBA Finals, leading one of only two teams in league history to reach The Finals with a losing record. He was the MVP that season and in 1979. He won the 1983 NBA championship with the Philadelphia 76ers, his third MVP season.
Malone was the first player to jump directly from high school to professional basketball, leaving the University of Maryland after one day to sign with the Utah Stars of the ABA in 1974.
