Lawrence Wilkerson revealed an an inconvenient truth
Lawrence Wilkerson spoke to many students and faculty at Lone Star College system in the Houston metropolitan area as well as to everyday citizens.. He drew substantial crowds at different campuses, speaking about The Travails of Empire. Wilkerson was Secretary of State General Colin Powell’s chief of staff.
During a section of his presentation he made statement that visibly shocked many in the room. He told an inconvenient truth. ‘We were built on the backs of black people,”said Lawrence Wilkserson.
It is so refreshing to have a well respected civil servant and diplomat speak truth to a non-receptive base.While it may not seem to change folk, in the long run seeds get planted.
