Republican misogynists in action at Planned Parenthood hearing (VIDEO)

September 30, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Planned Parenthood hearing, this is what a misogynist attack looks like

Republican Congressmen displayed a level of misogyny at the Planned Parenthood hearing that has become vogue.  House Oversight & Government Reform Committee Chair Rep Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) set the tone.  Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Rep Mark Meadows (R-NC), Rep Trey Gowdy (R-SC), and Rep Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) did not disappoint.

Rep Brenda Lawrence (D-MI) admonished her colleagues with a statement America needs to hear even as it is ignored by her Republican colleagues.  “It is exhausting to keep hearing about federal dollars being spent on abortions when repeatedly the facts state and it is not a controversy,” Rep Lawrence said. “Read your facts. Do your research before you ask these exhausting, sometimes I feel insulting questions. … I just, for the life of me sitting here today, I know my colleagues are more intelligent than this. And it is exhausting to hear just a philosophy of attack — just use information that is totally incorrect as if I keep saying it, some kind of way it will become factual.”

The cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy in the hearing were apparent. Planned Parenthood was in good hands as the congresspeople that support the organization continued to correct the record.
