Watch former Houston city councilwoman leap into the car of robbers who stole her purse (VIDEO)

October 13, 2015 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

Jolanda Jones leap into car of robbers stealing her purse

Jolanda Jones is one tough woman. She served as Houston City Councilwoman representing at large position 5 for several years. She was a track start at the University of Houston. She was was one of the members of Survivor Palau. She is an analyst and lawyer that takes pride in representative clients of all stripes and from any socio-economic background.

Jolanda Jones did something no one should do. She confronted robbers who stole her purse and laptop while she was at the KCOH Radio studios in Houston, Texas. She ran and jumped into the robbers’ car as they drove off. They ran over her feet. She then jumped into her car and gave chase. This will not surprise anyone who knows Jolanda.

Jolanda, what were you thinking. When I saw the report on ABC13 I called her up right away to check on her. She said she was okay and acknowledged the mistake in confronting the robbers. “I was not thinking,” she said. “I just reacted.” While this is a normal reflex, it is a reflex we must all ignore. Material things are not worth our lives.

Jolanda Jones was lucky these creeps had no guns or did not use guns. Otherwise it could have been a much different outcome.

Jolanda Jones is now running for HISD Trustee, Position IV. The passion Jones show for every issue she touches is probative. As such if she wins, the students in HISD will have a strong advocate.
