Richard Hanna admits Benghazi a hit job on Hillary Clinton
Republican majority leader and then ‘Speaker in waiting’ Kevin McCarthy started the dominoes falling. He said that even though everyone believed Hillary Clinton was invincible, their Benghazi committee brought down her poll numbers.
Well, Kevin McCarthy is not alone. Another Republican Congressman, Richard Hanna, went on Keeler in the Morning on WIBX 950 AM. He pretty much said the same thing. Following is the transcript of the relevant segment.
Richard Hanna: Kevin McCarthy basically blew himself up with that comment over the Benghazi committee. Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in DC is to tell the truth. This may not be politically correct but I think that there was a big part of this investigation, it was designed to go after people and individuals, Hillary Clinton. You know I think there is also a lot of it that’s important, that we needed to get to the bottom of this. But this has been the longest investigation, longer than Watergate.
Host: You’ve got a conservative Republican out there right now, who is military, who’s really blowing the whistle on the whole thing. He’s basically saying ‘It was. I was removed because it was political’.
Richard Hanna: I am not on that committee. I can’t speak to that. I certainly watched the hearings and read some of the transcripts. After what Kevin McCarthy said it is difficult to accept it. At least a part of it was not. And I think that’s the way Washington works. But you would like to expect more from a committee that spent millions of dollars and tons of time.
The conservative Republican that the host was referring to is Major Bradley Podliska. Last week he was alleging “that he lost his job in part because he resisted pressure to focus his investigative efforts solely on the State Department and Clinton’s role surrounding the Benghazi attack.”
And there you have it. Another Republican congressperson comes clean on the hit job that is the Benghazi committee. The credibility of the committee is now blown beyond repair. GOP Congressman and ‘head Benghazi committee prosecutor’ Trey Gowdy can stick a fork in it. It is over.
