Patricia Reyes Spíndola revealed she battled breast cancer in a video she made public in May 2012: “Yes, I had cancer. On 11, 11, 2011, I was told I had it on my left breast. It’s been a few months and now I am an ex-cancer patient and the only reason I didn’t announce it before was because my mom is 85 years old and I didn’t want her to suffer. When they tell us we have cancer the first feeling that overcomes us is guilt, and we ask ourselves, why should I make my partner, my siblings suffer? So I decided to keep it to myself,” the Mexican actress explained in her video.
