Bill Maher has a change of heart on long presidential race
Very rarely does Bill Maher reconsider his position. The two GOP front-runners accomplished that. Donald Trump and Ben Carson caused Bill Maher to have a change of heart on long presidential race.
“Neurosurgeon Ben Carson believes that someone with zero experience in governing is qualified to be president,” Bill Maher said. “He must first make someone with zero training operate on his brain.”
Maher then went on to say that given some of the stuff that Carson says, someone might have already operated on his brain. He then admonished Republicans for having Trump and Carson as their front-runners.
“You can either want Trump to be the leader of the free world,” Maher said. “Or I can take you seriously. But it cannot be both.”
Bill then went on to point out some of the crazy things Ben Carson had said. Carson claimed that the Ayatollah and Putin went to college together. Politifact ruled this statement a lie, a pants on fire.
Maher said that 85% of Iowa Republicans said they find the total lack of government experience to be Carson’s biggest asset.
“It is this type of thinking or a lack of it that has inspired me to change my view on an important aspect of American elections,” Bill Maher said. “I use to say that our elections went on far too long.”
Bill then said that had the election been a short one like in European countries, Trump would already be president. That is an outcome most Americans could not live with.
