Black preachers meeting with Donald Trump selling their souls

Once again a sect of black preachers show their colors. They are but pawns to be used against their own communities. They were used in 2004 to help give George W. Bush the necessary delta Black vote. Recently in Houston they were used by the southern religious complex to vote against the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) that protected 15 classes including women, gays, and other minorities. Now they are being used as pawns and props to redeem Donald Trump’s minority problem including the attack of a Black Lives Matter protester at one of his rallies.

Pastor James Davis was one of the hundred or so black preachers that met with Donald Trump. Dr. Jamal Bryant decided that he would neither be a pawn nor a prop and did not attend.

Davis said naively that he did not feel pandered to. He said that Pastor Dr. Bryant referred to black preachers meeting Trump as prostitutes. Dr. Bryant apologized in a most appropriate manner.

“I want to apologize,” Dr. Bryant said. “Because prostitutes get money. And the one hundred that went in there walked out with nothing. They did it for free. So there is another word for that. And I would not use that language on a family channel. What I would suggest is that you could not find a hundred white pastors to do the endorsement. Not one hundred rabbis.  Not one hundred imams. But you can always find whenever there is poverty, you can always find a capitalist who would always exploit poor people who are privileged just to be in the room.”

Dr. Jamal is mostly right. There is a sect of black preachers who betray their communities frequently. In fact my personal belief is that they are partially responsible for the state of their communities as they sell these communities out for personal gain. The black preachers in Houston that teamed up with the southern religious complex to defeat HERO never get support from these guys to support programs to improve their communities. The black preachers that supported Bush got no programs that helped their communities move forward.

Dr. Jamal is likely wrong about one thing. In the short term the preachers walked out with nothing. The reality is those black preachers are playing the long personal game. They will likely be paid when no one is looking. In effect they are pawns of Donald Trump and their pews are their pawns.
