Hillary Clinton’s victimhood play not backed by her own words
Hillary Clinton may be trying to resurrect the victim card she played on then Senator Obama with this latest ode to victimhood on Bernie Sanders. This time it is likely to wear thin especially since there is ample evidence of reality one can see.
Recently Hillary Clinton has been proudly self-identifying as a progressive. This has not always been the case and she has admitted as much. The video in this post is probative.
Andrea Mitchell asked Bernie Sanders if Hillary Clinton was a progressive. His answer was straightforward.
“Some days, yes,” Bernie Sanders said. “Except when she announces that she is a proud moderate. And then I guess she is not a progressive.”
Hillary Clinton took exception to Sanders’ statement and then attempted to play the victim card.
“I was a little disappointed to be honest yesterday,” Hillary Clinton said. “It was kind of a low blow as Senator Sanders said in response to a question, well maybe she is a progressive on some days.”
The reality is that Bernie Sanders did not invent what he said. He did not pull it out of the air. As the video clip shows, Hillary Clinton said as much in no uncertain terms.
Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton would be better than any Republican running just based on the policies they are in support of. The problem is that Hillary Clinton wants to move incrementally as she allows the corporatocracy to keep an underserved portion of the pie, while Bernie Sanders pretty much says, enough is enough. Having them skim the middle-class has not improved the condition of the middle-class. In fact they have pilfered the middle-class.
This epic Krystal Ball monologue more than most give all the reasons why even if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, she would be a long shot for the presidency. The GOP is running a double bluff. They are hoping to give Democratic primary voters pause by implying they want Bernie Sanders because he can easily be beaten. The reality is Bernie Sanders has the most appealing middle-class message. If and when Americans believe that they have the power to command their own government, his message will be resonate and the votes will follow.
