Bernie Sanders hits hard without any vitriol, just fact based statement
Bernie Sanders has refrained from pointing out Hillary Clinton’s flaws in a full throated manner since the beginning of his campaign. That may be changing. At a recent event he had the following to say.
“Secretary Clinton, month after month, after month seems to be adopting more and more of the positions that we have advocated,” said Bernie Sanders. “That’s good. And in fact she’s beginning to use a lot of the language and phraseology that we have used. In fact I think I saw her TV ad and I thought it was me”
He then got into the meat of what he really wanted to point out with regards to Clinton’s affinity for Super PACs.
“Secretary Clinton and and her people were saying, ‘Yes we have Super PACs, but that money is going to be used against Republicans,'” Sanders said. “Well guess what, it turns out not to be the case. Millions of dollars of Super PAC money is now being used against me.
Sanders went on to differentiate on policies that hurt the middle-class that was supported at one time or another by Hillary Clinton.
“She supported NAFTA,” Sanders said. “She supported permanent trade relations with China. Whose life work is about standing up to the billionaire class?”
Bernie Sanders is going to have to get much more direct in pointing out differences. If Hillary Clinton is the nominee, Republicans will not be kind to her. If Bernie Sanders is the nominee they will not be kind to him either. Sanders will have to wear a demonized socialist Scarlet Letter. Hillary Clinton will be made to wear the untrustworthy Wall Street owned mantra. It is important that these last two standing Democrats are tested fully. If Americans hear it all now, when Republicans attempt the dirty tricks we know are forthcoming, Americans will be inoculated. May the best candidate for the middle-class win.
