Rachel Maddow illustrates the irony

Rachel Maddow shows clips of Donald Trump’s vicious attacks on Ben Carson as she gives her take on this ironic endorsement. The Guardian reported that former candidate for the Republican nomination for President Ben Carson will endorse Donald Trump.

Ben Carson will endorse Republican frontrunner Donald Trump’s candidacy for the White House on Friday, sources have confirmed to the Guardian. …

In a radio interview earlier on Thursday, Carson told interviewer John Gibson that he was “certainly leaning towards Trump”. “There’s the Donald Trump that you see on television and who gets out in front of big audiences, and there’s the Donald Trump behind the scenes,” he explained. “They’re not the same person. One’s very much an entertainer, and one is actually a thinking individual.”

Rachel Maddow ran the included clip. Donald Trump viciously attacked Ben Carson based on the confessional in his book. In his book, Carson claimed that he wanted to hit his mother with a hammer. Trump also highlighted Carson describing himself as having a pathological temper.

Maddow also recalled that Trump once equated Ben Carson to a child molester. She reminded her audience that Donald Trump once called Iowans stupid if they believed Ben Carson’s story.

Strange bedfellows continue. Hypocrisy continues.
