Ted Cruz was very smooth
Ted Cruz was very suave in the way he handled a heckler who told him to go back to Canada. Birtherism in at a Republican Rally, poetic justice.
A protester shouted, “Go back to Canada!” several times. “Thank you sir,” Ted Cruz replied. “Very charming of you. I appreciate you being here. And I appreciate free speech.”
The protester continued shouting. Cruz did not change his demeanor. “And sir, thank you for being here,” Cruz continued. The crowd began to boo the heckler. Cruz then calmed them down.
“No, No, No,” Cruz said. “We will be respectful. See sir, one difference between this and a Donald Trump rally is that I am not asking anyone to punch you in the face.
The heckler may not realize that many of the Cruz supporters who were President Obama birthers do not even realize that Canada is a different country.
