Mr. Smooth President Obama dancing the tango
President Obama is Mr. Smooth. Inasmuch as he is not Mr. Latino he has the groove of a Tango dancing Latino. NPR reported his Tango experience as follows.
When in Rome — or in this case, Buenos Aires… President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, (right) dance the tango with dancers during the state dinner in Argentina on Wednesday.
President Obama danced the famous Argentine tango with a lithe dancer in a shimmery gold dress during the official state dinner at the Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday night.
While The Associated Press reports Obama initially declined the dancer’s outstretched hand — multiple times — he then relented and joined her on the floor, dancing for about about a minute to the dramatic tango music.
While we wouldn’t say Obama was necessarily fleet of foot, the leader of the free world was able to hold his own on the dance floor.
Only Obama could pull this off. I can already see the heads of those in the Right Wing about to explode. The President is enjoying the last months of his presidency. He is doing things that do not require necessary action from an embarrassingly ineffective and intransigent Congress. Have some fun Mr. President. You earned it.
