Donald Trump will punish women who have abortions
Donald Trump is putting into words what everyone knew for decades. The Republican policy on abortions is to punish women who have the procedure. Trump is campaigning as the honest Republican.
Chris Matthew asked Donald Trump about the issue of abortions. Matthews if abortion became illegal in the country if the women having abortions should be punished. The exchange was stunning.
Donald Trump started to ramble. He started saying he is pro-life. It was as if Trump was cornered. In fact, it seemed as if he was supporting women going to illegal places for abortions. He then asked Matthews if he knew the Catholic position. Chris Matthews continued to pressure Donald Trump. Finally, it happened.
“Do you believe in punishment for abortion,” Chirs Matthews asked. “Yes or no as a principle.”
“And the answer is that there has to be some form of punishment,” Donald Trump replied. “Yes. there has to be some form.”
The Trump campaign knew this would create a firestorm and they are attempting to walk it back slowly. According to MSNBC, his campaign released the following. “This issue is unclear and should be put back into the states for determination. Like Ronald Reagan, I am pro-life with exceptions which I have outlined numerous times.”
