Teaching is a demanding profession. It is a position that does not pay well. It is a profession where much is expected. It is true that in our society, where parents are stressed because virtually the entire household has to work just to survive, children suffer from the lack supervision necessary to teach good behavior. Many of these societal problems are left at the classroom door for teachers to address. This teacher overreacted. Her life will be forever changed. When we realize that socio-economic problems affect us all whether we realize it or not, we will get serious and start electing people who want to solve problems instead of just demagoguing.
