Gunman attempted to get into White House
According to the Huffington Post.
A Secret Servicofficer shot a person who was brandishing a weapon near the White House around 3 p.m. Friday, law enforcement told CNN and CBS.
The U.S. Park Police, which patrols the grounds of the White House, confirmed the shooting took place but did not provide additional details.
The man approached a security checkpoint with the gun and was told to drop the gun but refused, law enforcement told The Washington Post. He was shot, and then taken into custody and transported to George Washington University hospital in critical condition, according to MSNBC.
