Sanders slams Disney hard as poster child of rigged economy (VIDEO)

Sanders challenges Disney and ABC

Prediction: My statement won’t appear on ABC/Disney tonight

Sanders lashed out at Disney illustrating how they are the vivid example of a rigged economy based on their products, workers,  worker pay, & HB-1 Visas. He did not mince words.

Sanders started by asking the crowd if any of them work for Disney. He then asked how many are making a living wage. He said he was not singling out Disney. He was simply using Disney as an example of a rigged economy. He then pointed out the company strategies Disney used to maximize profits and executive salaries at the expense of the average American citizen.

Bernie Sanders points out that Disney pays its employees so little that their employees are forced to live in motels. This is not at all dissimilar to other mega companies like McDonalds who for all practical purposes is a company funded by taxpayer dollars in the form of government paid welfare for their workers. Sanders pointed out that Disney made a profit of $3 Billion last quarter.

Sanders pointed out that Disney made a profit of $3 Billion last quarter. He pointed out that in Florida, Disney had its employees train foreign workers brought to America on H1-B visas to replace their jobs. Of course, the Disney CEO made $46 million in total compensation. “And that’s what we are talking about in a rigged economy,” said Sanders. “People working for very low wages while the people on top are doing phenomenally well. And what this campaign is about is challenging that economy based on greed and demanding an economy that works for all of us, not just the one percent.”

Sanders points out that many of these issues will not appear on ABC. Why? Because ABC is owned by Disney. Here is the reality, when the media are owned by corporate America, when media are dependent on advertising for corporate media, their news, and narrative generally protect the hands that feed them.
