Joy-Ann Reid simply could not believe the irrational defense of Trump's racism by his spokesperson.
Joy-Ann Reid kept the pressure on minimizing spin
MSNBC's Joy-Ann Reid and Lawrence O'Donnell had a field day w/ Donald Trump's spokeswoman Katrina Pierson pointing out her silly defense of Trump's racism. The questioning started simple enough. Reid asked Pierson if it was wise for Donald Trump to evoke the judge's race while the judge is handling his suit.
Pierson deflected the question from an ethnicity standpoint. She denied Trump said what he actually said.
Reid then asked Pierson about Trump's 'My African American' gaffe. She spun the answer. Then accused the media of twisting Trump's words. Reid reminded Pierson that it is always Trump who segue's to a racial or ethnic stance.
"I want to remind you once again," Reid said. "The media is reporting on what Donald Trump is saying. And that is why his statement on race come out. Because he is saying them, and then the media is reporting on them.
Lawrence joined the conversation. He asked Katrina her ethnic Background. Katrina is bi-racial (black & white). He used that in an attempt to get her empathetic towards those who feel the sting of Donald Trump's tongue. Like an awakened zombie, she continued to use her talking points.
But something was obvious. In her response, it is evident that the Trump campaign is playing a deny and conquer game. It was evident she was attempting to put a wedge between blacks and latinos.
