Catholic League President gets unhinged on CNN as he ignores Pope’s call (VIDEO)

June 28, 2016 By Egberto Willies

Sorry, there was a YouTube error.

The President of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue perfectly illustrates how bigotry is a disease within many who should be leading.

Bill Donohue unhinged where he should be showing compassion?

Bill Donohue, the Catholic League President, appeared on CNN with Chris Cuomo. He did a disservice to Christians and Catholics in particular. He displayed not only bigotry but an insensitivity to humanity in general.

Recently the Pope said that the Church should apologize to gays and other’s that have been aggrieved. The New York Times reported the following.

Pope Francis said on Sunday that Christians and the Roman Catholic Church should seek forgiveness from gays for the way they had treated them. Pope Francis said on Sunday that Christians and the Roman Catholic Church should seek forgiveness from gays for the way they had treated them.

Speaking to reporters aboard a plane taking him back to Rome from Armenia, the pope also said the church should ask forgiveness for the way it has treated women, for turning a blind eye to child labor and for “blessing so many weapons” in the past.

In an hourlong freewheeling conversation that has become a trademark of his international travels, Francis was asked by a reporter if he agreed with recent comments by a Roman Catholic cardinal from Germany that the church should apologize to gays and if an apology was made more urgent by the killing of 49 people at a gay club in Florida this month.

Francis, looking sad, recalled church teachings that homosexuals “should not be discriminated against.”

“They should be respected, accompanied pastorally,” he said.

Then he added that he thought the church should apologize not only to gay people it had offended, but also to the poor, to women who have been exploited, and to children who have been exploited by being forced to work. “It must apologize for having blessed so many weapons,” Francis added.

Bill Donohue took exception to the Pope’s statement. In fact, he said gays should apologize to him. His bigotry was on full display as he got defensive. He speaks about good deeds he has done for “the gays” and “the black community.”

“I have taught black history. I have been in the ghetto,” Donohue said. “I support the kinds of things that ‘allow’ non-white kids in the inner city to go to Catholic schools.”

Donohue is a piece of work. He fails to realize the condescension of his words. His attack on Liberals illustrates he is more and ideologue promoting his failed ideology as opposed to a Christian promoting the values that Christ championed.
